What a wonderful weekend: fine weather, warm seas and basking sharks!

The 2006 BSoUP Splash-In was well attended with enthusiastic photographers keen to get their slice of the action.

A small Group of 10 attended from The Bristol Underwater Photography Group and dived with Discovery Divers. Dives sites included Hillsea Point, the Mewstone Ledges and Hands Deep, finishing off with the Glen Strathallen and Basking Sharks at the surface. Our thanks to Dave and Danny for their excellent service.

Alan James won the Close Up Digital category with his image of a lobster and also picking up a third with his Corkwing Wrasse portrait. Alan also achieved a third place for his image of a seal in the UK prints competition. New member Jan Davies was snapping at his heels a very close second in the close-up category, as well as achieving a third place in the digital wide-angle. Yet another member of the Bristol Underwater Photography Group, Trevor Rees won both the Wide Angle Digital category and second in the Humour Section.
